10 Must Haves at your Winter Wedding

We love a cozy Winter Wedding. In fact co-owner of Ava’s weddings, Jill herself got married in January of 2017. So Winter weddings hold a special place in our hearts! What’s not to love, a snow-covered locale, sparkle galore and all the warm & fuzzies! But if you're planning wintertime nuptials yourself, there are a few extra things you may want to add to your list so that you can keep your guests happy and warm during your celebration. Here are 10 things your guests will enjoy seeing at your winter wedding.

  1. Twinkle Light Photo Wall

The winter way to make your wedding a hit on Instagram is to have a wall of hanging twinkle lights so that people can snap a picture in front of it and use your wedding hashtag.

2. Hot Chocolate Bar

What is a party in wintertime with hot cocoa? This hot beverage is a crowd-pleasing menu addition that won’t break the budget and will keep your guests warm.

3. Blanket Basket

“ To have and to hold in case you get cold”. Not only is this a super fun decor display item, but it will keep your guests warm & comfortable.

4. Comfort Food

Who wouldn’t love some good old comfort food, especially during those long, cold & snowy days of winter.

5. Sparklers

While you might have holiday lights strung up around your venue, adding sparklers will create magical memories underneath the warm glow of holiday lights.

6. Glühwein (mulled wine)

Most guests will expect wine at your reception. But they won’t expect a heated, mulled wine. We suggest warming up your guests with this signature mulled wine, a perfect nod to the season.

7. Coat Check

You will regret not having a place for your guests to hang their bulky winter jackets. Coats on chairs make for ugly ceremony photos and your guests will be much more comfortable.

8. Evergreen

Filling your wedding decor with pines, firs and other winter greenery will have your venue smelling fresh and inviting.

9. Silk Bouquet

Planning on taking some outdoor photos? You may want to consider silk flowers as they will hold up in the cold chilly winter temperatures.

10. Rug Aisle Runners

Winterize any large space with rugs as aisle runners. It will instantly add a cozy vibe to your ceremony.
